Inspiring Growth Through Global Service
Avni Bhardwaj, a student at Challenger School and one of the founders of Dreamkick World Mission, turned her passion for Taekwondo into an opportunity to serve others. In the summer of 2025, Avni joined her teammates on a service trip to Guatemala, where they taught Taekwondo to local students and built lasting connections through movement, respect, and teamwork.
Before departing, the Dreamkick team raised more than $2,000 to purchase over 100 uniforms and essential supplies, ensuring that every student could fully participate in the training. Their efforts made it possible for more than 300 students to experience Taekwondo for the first time.
Teaching Beyond Technique
For Avni, the trip was about much more than demonstrating kicks and forms. It was a chance to discover what it truly means to lead. She learned that leadership is not just about technique—it’s about listening, encouraging, and creating a space where others feel supported and confident to grow.
Through teaching, she also gained valuable lessons in patience, communication, and empathy. Watching the students persevere and find joy in each movement reminded her of the universal power of connection and shared purpose.
Lessons That Last a Lifetime
This experience strengthened Avni’s leadership and teamwork skills and deepened her appreciation for the values of discipline, confidence, and compassion that Taekwondo teaches. The mission also inspired her to continue spreading these values through her ongoing work with Dreamkick Taekwondo and beyond.
By combining service with passion, Avni continues to empower others to embrace courage, generosity, and community—both on and off the mat.
