Sofia Santiago

Sofia Santiago is a freshman at North Broward Preparatory School in Coconut Creek, Florida, She has been recently recognized for her involvement with Project Beauty; a local 401c charity dedicated to mental health of teens in her county. Her mission as ambassador has been to raise funds to help promote confidenc in teens inner and outer beauty. Together with her fellow. ambassadors, Project Beauty raised over $10,000 during their fundraising campaign. Sofia was awarded a prize for her leadership and highest fundraiser.
Sofia also supports her passion for childhood literacy by volunteering with Hands On South Florida youth reading program. She been an advocate for early reading intervention by collecting books for distribution to celebrate Superhero Reading Day for underserved youth.
Sofia has continued her interest in childhood literacy as evidenced by her work with Learning Ally. She has provided quality assurance for their audiobook program Ally Verse, which assists children with dyslexia and other reading difficulties. She has worked together with audiobook narrators to review over 20 books in just two months!
Sofia is also active within her school in Key Club. Her activities inchude friendship bracelet making, art for charity, board walk cleanup and animal rescue fundraising. Sofia is an honor student who enjoys performing in community theatre, physical ftness and local music and sporting events. Sofia is dedicated and committed to making a difference and is considered a friend to all she meets along the way.
