Digital Content License and Use Policy

Effective Date: September 23, 2023

This Digital Content License and Use Policy applies to digital products, downloadable materials, online courses, electronic certificates, volunteer resources, templates, workbooks, journals, graphics, digital badges, videos, assessments, presentations, and other digital content purchased from, accessed through, or provided by Global Volunteer Recognition Program™ LLC, referred to in this policy as “GVRP,” “we,” “us,” or “our.”

By purchasing, downloading, accessing, receiving, or using GVRP digital content, you agree to this policy and any additional terms displayed on the applicable product page.

1. Ownership of GVRP Content

All GVRP digital content remains the intellectual property of Global Volunteer Recognition Program™ LLC or the applicable content owner.

Purchasing, receiving, or gaining access to digital content does not transfer ownership of the copyright, trademarks, course materials, designs, award materials, certificate formats, graphics, written content, or other intellectual property to the purchaser or recipient.

Your purchase provides a limited license to use the content for the purpose described in this policy and on the applicable product page.

Global Volunteer Recognition Program™, Global Volunteer Awards™, associated program names, logos, award names, course names, designs, certificates, and other brand elements may not be copied, reproduced, modified, or used without authorization.

2. Individual Use License

Unless a product page or written agreement expressly provides different permissions, GVRP digital content is licensed to one individual purchaser or one specifically named recipient.

This license is:

  • Limited

  • Non-exclusive

  • Non-transferable

  • Non-sublicensable

  • Intended for personal, educational, volunteer-development, or internal professional use

  • Subject to the restrictions contained in this policy

When a digital product is purchased as a gift, the license may be used by the specifically identified gift recipient. The product may not later be transferred to another person.

Purchasing one digital product, course enrollment, certificate, or download does not provide permission for use by multiple students, volunteers, employees, clients, organization members, or household members unless the product page expressly states that group use is included.

3. Permitted Personal Uses

Unless different permissions are stated on the product page, an authorized purchaser or recipient may:

  • Download the purchased digital file to personal devices

  • Keep reasonable backup copies for personal use

  • Print a reasonable number of copies for their own use

  • Complete or write in a workbook, journal, worksheet, or template intended for personal completion

  • Use study materials for their own education, volunteer development, leadership development, or professional growth

  • Use completed course materials as a personal reference

  • Display a certificate or digital badge that was validly issued to them

  • Include a validly issued certificate, badge, or credential on a resume, portfolio, LinkedIn profile, personal website, social media account, scholarship application, pageant portfolio, or professional profile

  • Provide a copy of a validly issued certificate or credential to an employer, school, volunteer organization, licensing organization, scholarship committee, or other appropriate party for verification

  • Share a direct link to a publicly available GVRP webpage or resource

Permission to display a certificate or badge does not transfer ownership of the certificate design, badge design, award name, logo, or underlying content.

4. Digital Certificates and Badges

Digital certificates and badges may be used only by the person or organization to whom they were officially issued.

The authorized recipient may print reasonable replacement or display copies of the same completed certificate. Printing additional copies does not authorize the recipient to change the certificate, create certificates for other people, or use the certificate design as a template.

Digital certificates and badges may not be:

  • Edited to change the recipient’s name

  • Edited to change completion dates, service hours, award levels, course titles, or eligibility information

  • Used by someone other than the authorized recipient

  • Reproduced as blank templates

  • Sold, sublicensed, or redistributed

  • Used to issue independent awards or credentials

  • Altered in a way that misrepresents participation, completion, membership, service hours, or award eligibility

  • Used to imply an endorsement, partnership, certification, or affiliation that GVRP has not authorized

A certificate, badge, medal, pin, or award may be displayed only when it was legitimately earned, purchased where permitted, or officially issued according to the applicable program requirements.

5. Leadership Academy Courses

GVRP Leadership Academy courses are licensed only to the registered student.

Course enrollment and access may not be transferred, shared, resold, or provided to another person. Each student must have their own enrollment unless GVRP has approved a group arrangement in writing.

Course materials include, but are not limited to:

  • Written lessons

  • Videos

  • Presentations

  • Worksheets

  • Downloadable resources

  • Quizzes and assessments

  • Answer explanations

  • Study materials

  • Course graphics

  • Completion certificates

  • Instructor-created educational content

Students may use these materials for their own learning and personal reference. Students may not copy substantial portions of a course into another course, training program, presentation, workbook, website, membership, or commercial product.

Screenshots, recordings, downloads, or copied course content may not be publicly posted or distributed.

Course completion certificates may be used only by students who have completed the applicable course requirements.

6. Volunteer Resources, Workbooks, Journals, and Templates

Digital volunteer resources, workbooks, journals, trackers, worksheets, planning materials, project instructions, and templates are licensed for the purchaser’s individual use unless otherwise stated.

The purchaser may complete or customize materials when customization is an intended part of the product.

The purchaser may not:

  • Sell or distribute the original file

  • Sell or distribute a customized version of the file

  • Remove GVRP branding and present the material as their own

  • Upload the material to a shared resource library

  • Include the material in a paid course, membership, coaching package, volunteer program, or consulting service

  • Reproduce the material for an organization, classroom, chapter, club, pageant, school, team, or group

  • Use the material to create another product for sale or distribution

Completing a worksheet, tracker, journal, or template does not transfer ownership of the original format, design, instructions, or content.

7. Prohibited Uses

Except where applicable law provides otherwise, GVRP digital content may not be:

  • Resold

  • Redistributed

  • Sublicensed

  • Given away

  • Shared with unauthorized individuals

  • Mass produced

  • Commercially printed

  • Uploaded to a file-sharing platform

  • Uploaded to a shared drive for group access

  • Posted in an online group, membership library, forum, or resource database

  • Included in another digital download

  • Included in a physical product offered for sale

  • Used to manufacture merchandise, medals, pins, certificates, awards, apparel, books, promotional products, or other goods

  • Copied into another course, certification program, workbook, training, presentation, or membership

  • Modified and sold as a new product

  • Translated and distributed without written permission

  • Used to establish a competing award, recognition, membership, certification, or educational program

  • Used in a misleading or fraudulent manner

  • Used to falsely claim membership, course completion, volunteer hours, certification, award eligibility, or recognition

  • Used to suggest that GVRP endorses a person, product, business, organization, or program without written authorization

Changing the wording, colors, graphics, layout, file format, branding, or other elements does not create a new product or provide permission to sell or distribute the content.

8. Mass Production and Commercial Reproduction

A standard digital purchase does not include permission to manufacture, mass produce, commercially print, or distribute physical or digital copies.

This restriction includes using GVRP digital content to create:

  • Certificates for multiple recipients

  • Medals, pins, plaques, trophies, or awards

  • Shirts, bags, accessories, or promotional merchandise

  • Books, journals, planners, or workbooks

  • Printable products

  • Print-on-demand products

  • Digital templates

  • Classroom materials

  • Training packages

  • Subscription or membership resources

  • Products sold through Etsy, Amazon, Shopify, Teachers Pay Teachers, social media, or another marketplace

A purchaser who wants commercial, organizational, classroom, or manufacturing rights must receive written authorization from GVRP before using the content.

9. Schools, Businesses, Nonprofits, and Organizations

An individual license does not authorize an organization to reproduce or distribute content to multiple participants.

Schools, businesses, nonprofit organizations, volunteer organizations, pageant systems, clubs, chapters, instructors, trainers, consultants, coaches, and community groups must purchase the appropriate quantity or obtain written permission before providing GVRP digital content to multiple people.

Examples of uses requiring additional permission include:

  • Distributing one workbook to multiple volunteers

  • Showing paid course materials during an organizational training

  • Printing certificates for multiple participants

  • Uploading purchased materials to an employee or student portal

  • Including GVRP resources in a paid service

  • Reproducing a volunteer project resource for an entire organization

  • Using GVRP award or certificate designs for an independent recognition program

Group, classroom, organizational, and custom licensing requests may be submitted to Hello@globalvolunteerrecognitionprogram.com.

10. Public and Free Resources

This policy does not prevent individuals from sharing a direct link to a publicly accessible GVRP webpage, blog post, announcement, or free resource.

Publicly available content may still be protected by copyright and trademark law. Unless the page states otherwise, public availability does not provide permission to copy the full content, republish it on another website, remove its branding, sell it, or distribute it as a separate product.

Brief quotations or other uses permitted by applicable law are not restricted by this policy.

11. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Systems

GVRP digital content may not be uploaded, copied, or supplied to an artificial intelligence system, automated content-generation system, or dataset for the purpose of:

  • Training or improving a commercial model

  • Building a competing course, award, certificate, membership, or digital product

  • Generating substantially similar materials for sale or distribution

  • Creating a searchable public or commercial content library

  • Removing or replacing GVRP attribution

  • Reproducing protected content at scale

Limited use of general-purpose technology for accessibility, personal note-taking, or individual study is permitted when it does not distribute the content, expose it to unauthorized users, or create a competing product.

12. Product-Specific Permissions

Certain products may include additional permissions or restrictions.

When the applicable product page, written license, service agreement, or custom contract provides terms that differ from this general policy, the product-specific written terms will control for that product.

Permission granted for one product does not apply to another product.

Written permission must clearly identify the content, authorized user, approved purpose, number of users or copies, and any applicable time or distribution limits.

13. Refunds and Digital Access

Refund eligibility is governed by the GVRP Refund Policy and any additional refund terms displayed on the applicable product page.

Accessing, downloading, opening, completing, or receiving a digital product may affect refund eligibility where permitted by applicable law and the posted Refund Policy.

Nothing in this policy limits a consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

14. Unauthorized Use and Access

GVRP may suspend or terminate access to digital products, online courses, downloads, accounts, certificates, or member resources when there is a reasonable belief that content has been shared, copied, altered, resold, mass produced, or otherwise used in violation of this policy.

GVRP may also:

  • Revoke the applicable license

  • Remove unauthorized access

  • Cancel compromised login credentials

  • Request removal of infringing content or listings

  • Submit intellectual property complaints to websites, marketplaces, hosting providers, or social media platforms

  • Correct or revoke certificates or credentials obtained or altered through misrepresentation

  • Pursue other remedies available under applicable law

Termination of access does not grant permission to retain, reproduce, sell, distribute, or continue using content in an unauthorized manner.

15. Reporting Unauthorized Use

Suspected unauthorized copying, resale, redistribution, certificate alteration, account sharing, or misuse of GVRP intellectual property may be reported to:

Global Volunteer Recognition Program™ LLC
Email: Hello@globalvolunteerrecognitionprogram.com

Reports should include the location of the content, screenshots when available, the name of the person or organization involved, and any other information that may help GVRP review the concern.

16. Permission and Licensing Requests

Requests for classroom, group, organizational, commercial, manufacturing, reproduction, translation, or distribution permission must be submitted to:

Hello@globalvolunteerrecognitionprogram.com

Permission is valid only when provided in writing by an authorized representative of Global Volunteer Recognition Program™ LLC.

Silence, prior purchases, membership, course completion, partnership discussions, social media interaction, or prior informal use do not constitute permission.

17. Governing Terms

This policy should be read together with the applicable product description, Terms of Service, Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, membership terms, course requirements, and award eligibility requirements.

If a provision of this policy is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

This policy does not limit exceptions, defenses, or consumer protections that cannot legally be waived.

18. Policy Updates

GVRP may update this policy to reflect changes in its products, services, licensing options, technology, or legal obligations.

The effective date at the beginning of the policy identifies the most recent revision.

Continued access to subscription-based, membership-based, or course content after notice of an update may be subject to the updated terms. Completed purchases remain subject to applicable law and any material terms presented when the purchase was made.
