The Global Volunteer Awards™ recognize members of the Global Volunteer Recognition Program who complete qualifying volunteer service and successfully complete the required hour-submission and verification process.
Important Eligibility Information
Global Volunteer Awards™ are earned through verified volunteer service. Purchasing an award item does not create eligibility or guarantee an award.
Before an award can be issued, the volunteer must:

The volunteer's membership year, service year, and requested award year must match.
For example, volunteer service completed between January 1 and December 31, 2026 requires a qualifying 2026 membership and 2026 award submission.

Before You Purchase a Physical Award
You are welcome to purchase a physical recognition item before your award review is complete. However, the item will not be issued until eligibility and the appropriate award level have been confirmed.
An order confirmation is not an award approval or eligibility determination.
If we cannot verify an active membership, have not received the required hour submission, need additional documentation, or cannot confirm the requested award level, we will contact you with the next steps. Processing and fulfillment may be delayed until all requirements are satisfied.

Because Global Volunteer Awards™ are eligibility-based recognition products, customers are responsible for reviewing the published requirements before purchasing.
If an order is placed for a recipient who does not meet the published eligibility requirements, does not complete the required membership, hour-submission, or verification process, or otherwise cannot be approved for the requested award, the eligible purchase amount will be issued as GVRP store credit rather than refunded to the original payment method.
Your purchase value will remain available for use toward eligible GVRP products, programs, memberships, recognition opportunities, Volunteer Achievement Badges, or other available items.
This store-credit policy applies specifically to purchases that cannot be fulfilled because the purchaser or recipient does not meet or complete the published eligibility requirements. If GVRP is unable to fulfill an eligible order because of an error or issue on our part, the situation will be handled according to the applicable GVRP Refund Policy.

How the Global Volunteer Awards Work
Award eligibility is based on qualifying volunteer service completed during a calendar year, from January 1 through December 31.
The member's age group and total number of approved service hours determine the award level. Service must meet the Global Volunteer Awards guidelines and may be reviewed for eligibility, accuracy, completeness, and supporting documentation.
Members who are still documenting their service can use the GVRP Volunteer Companion App to organize volunteer activities and track hours.
Annual Service Year, Rolling Award Issuance
Global Volunteer Awards™ are based on eligible volunteer service completed within a calendar year, from January 1 through December 31.
Award submissions are generally reviewed on a rolling basis, and qualifying awards may be issued throughout the year. Members do not need to wait for an annual ceremony or single annual issuance date.
GVRP may also issue Global Volunteer Awards™ for qualifying service completed during a past calendar year. The membership year, service year, and requested award year must all match.
For example, service completed in 2024 requires a qualifying 2024 membership and 2024 award submission.

When a member moves into a different age group during the award year, the applicable age category is generally based on the age the member held for at least seven months during that calendar year.
Final award levels are determined by the Global Volunteer Recognition Program after review.

Medals and pins are available in Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum designs. Platinum medals and pins feature rhinestone detailing around the edge.
Physical certificates feature blue metallic foil detailing and are accompanied by a verification letter.

Rolling Review and Processing Time
Award submissions are generally reviewed on a rolling basis.
Digital recognition and physical award processing may begin approximately 48 to 72 hours after all required membership information, service-hour documentation, verification materials, and order details have been received.
Incomplete, inconsistent, or missing information may delay approval and fulfillment.
Shipping time for physical products is separate from the review and processing period.

Can anyone purchase a Global Volunteer Award?
The physical product may be purchased, but an official Global Volunteer Award™ will only be issued to a qualifying Global Volunteer Recognition Program member after the required service information has been submitted, reviewed, and approved.
Does purchasing this product make me a member?
No. Membership is not included with this product. The appropriate annual membership must be purchased separately.

Can I choose my own award level?

If the selected product does not match the approved award level, GVRP may contact you before fulfillment to discuss the appropriate option.
