The Global Volunteer Awards™ recognize members of the Global Volunteer Recognition Program who complete qualifying volunteer service and successfully complete the annual hour-submission and verification process.
Important Eligibility Information
Global Volunteer Awards are earned through verified volunteer service. They cannot be earned simply by purchasing this product.
Purchasing a medal, pin, certificate, or bundle does not create membership, replace the required hour submission, guarantee an award level, or automatically approve the purchaser for recognition.
Before an award can be issued, the volunteer must:

Complete the required number of eligible volunteer hours

Submit the official Global Volunteer Awards hour form

Meet all applicable age, service, and program requirements
The volunteer’s membership year, service year, and requested award year must match. For example, volunteer service completed between January 1 and December 31, 2026 requires a qualifying 2026 membership.

Membership alone does not guarantee an award. The award level is determined only after the submitted service hours and supporting information have been reviewed.
Before You Purchase a Physical Award
You may purchase a physical award before your review is complete, but the award will not be issued until eligibility has been confirmed.
If we cannot verify an active membership, have not received the required hour submission, need additional documentation, or cannot confirm the requested award level, you will receive an email explaining the next steps. Processing and fulfillment may be delayed until all requirements are satisfied.
An order confirmation is not an award approval or eligibility determination.

How the Global Volunteer Awards Work
Award eligibility is based on qualifying volunteer service completed during a calendar year, from January 1 through December 31.
The member’s age group and total number of approved service hours determine the award level. Service must meet the Global Volunteer Awards guidelines and may be reviewed for eligibility, accuracy, completeness, and supporting documentation.
Members who are still documenting their service can use the GVRP Volunteer Companion App to organize volunteer activities and track hours.

When a member moves into a different age group during the award year, the applicable age category is generally based on the age the member held for at least seven months during that calendar year.
Final award levels are determined by the Global Volunteer Recognition Program after review.

Medals and pins are available in Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum designs. Platinum medals and pins feature rhinestone detailing around the edge.
Physical certificates feature blue metallic foil detailing and are accompanied by a verification letter.
These items are designed to provide a lasting and collectible reminder of verified volunteer service.
Processing Time
Award submissions are generally reviewed on a rolling basis. Digital recognition and physical award processing may begin approximately 48 to 72 hours after all required membership information, service-hour documentation, verification materials, and order details have been received.
Incomplete, inconsistent, or missing information may delay approval and fulfillment.
Shipping time for physical products is separate from the review and processing period.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can anyone purchase a Global Volunteer Award?
The physical product may be added to a cart, but an official award will only be issued to a qualifying Global Volunteer Recognition Program member after the required service information has been submitted and approved.
Does purchasing this product make me a member?
No. Membership is not included with this product. You must purchase the appropriate annual membership separately.

No. Membership provides access to the recognition and review process. The member must still complete qualifying service, submit the required information, and meet the applicable award requirements.
Can I choose my own award level?
You may select the product associated with the level you believe you earned, but the final award level is determined by the number of approved volunteer hours and the member’s applicable age group.
If the selected product does not match the approved award level, we may contact you before the order is fulfilled.
Can I submit volunteer hours by email?
No. Volunteer hours must be submitted through the official Global Volunteer Awards form. Submissions sent through email will not be accepted.
