The 2026 Annual Membership is for volunteers completing eligible service between January 1 and December 31, 2026. Membership is open to students, adults, families, pageant titleholders, nonprofit volunteers, remote volunteers, corporate volunteers, community leaders, and anyone making a positive difference through service.

GVRP is not a competition. We recognize that volunteer service takes many forms, and every volunteer’s journey is different.

Best for: Student volunteers, adult volunteers, families, pageant titleholders, remote volunteers, community leaders, service-club members, and volunteers who want their 2026 service, leadership, projects, and community impact documented and recognized.

What Are the $100 Annual Membership Dues For?

The $100 annual membership dues support your participation in a structured volunteer recognition and leadership organization. That equals approximately $8.33 per month when divided across the recognition year.

Annual dues help support:

• Membership administration

• Volunteer-hour documentation and review support

• Member records and communications

• Recognition program development

• Volunteer project development

• Member spotlights and storytelling opportunities

• Technology and website operations

• Customer support

• Certificate and custom member medal production

• Packaging and program fulfillment

• Continued development of volunteer resources and recognition opportunities

You are not paying to volunteer, and you are not purchasing an earned service award. Volunteers choose where and how they serve. Eligibility-based awards require documented service, leadership, participation, or impact that meets the applicable program requirements.

What Member-Exclusive Awards Are Available?

Active members can pursue several recognition opportunities based on documented volunteer hours, continued membership, leadership, completed projects, and community impact.

Membership provides access and eligibility to pursue these opportunities. It does not guarantee approval, and some optional award formats are sold separately.

Global Volunteer Awards™

The Global Volunteer Awards™ recognize qualifying members based on documented volunteer hours completed during the applicable calendar recognition year.

Members who meet the requirements may receive:

• Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum recognition

• A personalized digital award certificate

• Placement on the official Global Volunteer Awards Honor Roll

• Opportunities to share their volunteer story

Optional physical medals, pins, and printed certificates may be purchased separately after eligibility is confirmed.

Sustained Commitment Member Milestone Certificate

The Sustained Commitment to Volunteer Service Member Milestone Certificate recognizes eligible members who reach:

• Three total GVRP membership years

• Five total GVRP membership years

• Ten total GVRP membership years

Membership years do not have to be consecutive. All eligible annual membership years recorded under the same member’s name may count toward the applicable milestone.

A personalized digital milestone certificate is complimentary after eligibility is confirmed. An optional printed certificate is available for $5 plus shipping.

The member must have an active membership for the recognition year in which the milestone is issued.

Excellence in Volunteer Leadership Award

The Excellence in Volunteer Leadership Award recognizes active members who demonstrate meaningful leadership through volunteer service, mentoring, advocacy, project coordination, community involvement, or service-focused initiatives.

A formal leadership title is not required, and there is no fixed minimum number of volunteer hours. Recognition is based on the member’s demonstrated leadership, initiative, personal contribution, service, and community impact.

Current award options include:

• Digital certificate for $10

• Printed certificate with a digital copy for $15 plus shipping

The membership year and the year in which the qualifying leadership occurred must match.

Volunteer Project Impact Award

The Volunteer Project Impact Award recognizes an active member’s meaningful contribution to a completed volunteer project that produces a documented community benefit or positive result.

There is no fixed minimum number of hours or required project size. Team projects may qualify when the member’s individual contribution is clearly documented.

Current award options include:

• Digital certificate for $10

• Printed certificate with a digital copy for $15 plus shipping

Members pursuing this award may also qualify for a complimentary Community Engagement Distinction when an upcoming project is submitted in advance, accepted through the official public Facebook event co-host process, completed, documented, and approved.

Advance project submission, calendar placement, or acceptance of a co-host invitation does not guarantee the distinction or the Volunteer Project Impact Award.

Why Are Some Member Awards Sold Separately?

Annual membership supports program administration, member records, communications, volunteer-hour documentation support, technology, customer service, volunteer project development, and the standard certificate and custom annual member medal included with membership.

Offering selected awards separately helps keep annual membership dues as affordable as possible while allowing members to choose the recognition that best reflects their accomplishments.

Members are not required to purchase additional awards to maintain their membership or receive the standard benefits included with it.

Purchasing an award option does not create eligibility or replace its service, leadership, project, documentation, or review requirements.

What Happens After I Join?

1. You Receive an Order Confirmation

You will receive an email confirming your membership purchase. Please review your order information and contact GVRP if your name, mailing address, or other details need to be corrected.

Your name will be printed on your membership certificate exactly as it appears on your order unless you provide different instructions.

2. GVRP Prepares Your Membership Materials

Your annual membership package includes:

• A personalized welcome letter

• An official 2026 membership certificate

• A custom 2026 member medal

• Information to help you begin documenting your volunteer service

Because membership materials are personalized and prepared for each member, processing and shipping times may differ from standard retail products.

3. You Begin or Continue Tracking Your Volunteer Service

You may track eligible service completed between January 1 and December 31, 2026.

Keep a record of:

• Volunteer dates

• Organization or project name

• Type of service completed

• Number of hours served

• Volunteer supervisor or contact information

• Description of your work

• Leadership responsibilities

• Project contributions and results

• Supporting documentation when available

You may use your own tracking system or explore the separate GVRP Volunteer Hour Tracking App and Volunteer Impact Journal.

Using a tracking tool does not automatically submit your hours or achievements to GVRP.

4. You Participate in Volunteer Projects and Member Opportunities

Members can participate in qualifying service through schools, nonprofits, community organizations, faith-based groups, workplaces, independent projects, and other eligible volunteer settings.

You can also explore GVRP volunteer events and remote service opportunities for additional ways to make an impact.

Participation in a specific GVRP project is not required. You may volunteer with organizations and causes that are meaningful to you.

5. You Submit Eligible Service or Achievements for Review

After completing the applicable requirements, you must follow the official submission process for the recognition opportunity you are pursuing.

Your membership purchase does not automatically submit your volunteer hours, leadership activity, or project results. Make sure your service year, membership year, documentation, and submission information match.

Review the GVRP FAQ and the individual award requirements before submitting.

6. GVRP Reviews Your Submission

GVRP reviews the information and documentation provided to determine whether the service, leadership activity, project, or milestone meets the applicable requirements.

You may be contacted if additional information, clarification, or documentation is needed.

Membership does not guarantee an eligibility-based award. Recognition must be earned through qualifying, documented service or achievement.

7. Qualifying Members Receive Recognition

After eligibility is confirmed, qualifying members receive the recognition included with or selected for the applicable program.

Depending on the award, this may include:

• A personalized digital certificate

• Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum Global Volunteer Award recognition

• Placement on the Global Volunteer Awards Honor Roll

• Sustained membership milestone recognition

• Volunteer leadership recognition

• Volunteer project-impact recognition

• An optional Community Engagement Distinction

• Member spotlight or storytelling opportunities

• Optional printed certificates, medals, pins, or other physical recognition products

Which Products and Services Are Sold Separately?

The following products and services are not automatically included with annual membership unless a listing specifically states otherwise:

• Physical Global Volunteer Award medals, pins, and printed certificates

• Excellence in Volunteer Leadership Award certificates

• Volunteer Project Impact Award certificates

• Optional printed Sustained Commitment Member Milestone Certificates

• Leadership Academy certification courses

• Volunteer Hour Tracking App

How Does the 2026 Recognition Year Work?

A 2026 membership applies to eligible volunteer service, leadership activities, and projects completed from January 1 through December 31, 2026.

You may join later in the year and still document eligible service completed earlier in 2026. Membership is connected to the calendar recognition year, not only to the number of months remaining after your purchase.

Volunteer service and achievements must follow current GVRP documentation, eligibility, submission, and deadline requirements. The membership year and recognition year must match.

For example:

• Service completed in 2026 requires a 2026 membership.

• Leadership demonstrated in 2026 requires a 2026 membership.

• A qualifying project completed in 2026 requires a 2026 membership.

• Service completed in 2025 requires a 2025 membership.

• Hours from different calendar years cannot automatically be combined into one Global Volunteer Award recognition year.

Membership years used for the Sustained Commitment Member Milestone Certificate do not have to be consecutive because that recognition is based on total qualifying GVRP membership years.

Is This Membership the Same as Buying an Award?

No.

Annual dues provide membership in the Global Volunteer Recognition Program and support the services, resources, administration, communications, and physical membership materials included with the program.

Eligibility-based awards are earned through qualifying documented hours, participation, leadership, project contributions, or community impact.

Purchasing membership or an optional award format does not replace the applicable activity, documentation, eligibility, submission, or review requirements.

Is Membership Required for Every GVRP Award?

No. Some GVRP recognition opportunities use separate eligibility and review processes and do not require annual membership.

The Global Student Citizenship & Service Award is available to eligible students without GVRP membership.

The Military Community Volunteer Impact Award is also available through a separate application and review process without requiring GVRP membership.

Before submitting volunteer hours

Global Volunteer Awards are earned through qualifying service. Your membership year, service year, and requested award year must match. Membership and optional physical award purchases do not guarantee approval.

Check which volunteer hours count and what is excluded, then review the award levels and official submission instructions.

Membership Policies

Annual membership dues are generally nonrefundable once membership materials, program access, administrative services, or other membership benefits have been provided.

Award eligibility, outside nominations, spotlights, event participation, discounts, project distinctions, and recognition opportunities may be subject to separate requirements, deadlines, availability, and review.
