Join the Global Volunteer Recognition Program™ and give your volunteer service a structured place to be documented, celebrated, and connected to meaningful recognition opportunities.

The 2026 Annual Membership is for volunteers completing eligible service between January 1 and December 31, 2026. Membership is open to students, adults, families, pageant titleholders, nonprofit volunteers, remote volunteers, corporate volunteers, community leaders, and anyone making a positive difference through service.

GVRP is not a competition. We recognize that volunteer service takes many forms, and every volunteer’s journey is different.

Best for: student volunteers, adult volunteers, families, pageant titleholders, remote volunteers, community leaders, service clubs, and volunteers who want their 2026 service documented and recognized.

What Are the $100 Annual Membership Dues For?

The $100 annual membership dues support your participation in a structured volunteer recognition and leadership organization. That equals approximately $8.33 per month when divided across the recognition year.

Annual dues help support:

  • Membership administration

  • Volunteer-hour documentation and review support

  • Member records and communications

  • Recognition program development

  • Volunteer project development

  • Member spotlights and storytelling opportunities

  • Technology and website operations

  • Customer support

  • Certificate and custom member medal production

  • Packaging and program fulfillment

  • Continued development of volunteer resources and recognition opportunities

You are not paying to volunteer, and you are not purchasing an earned service award. Volunteers choose where and how they serve. Eligibility-based awards require documented service that meets the applicable program requirements.

What Happens After I Join the Global Volunteer Recognition Program?

After you purchase your 2026 membership, the Global Volunteer Recognition Program will begin setting up your membership and preparing your personalized materials.

1. You Receive an Order Confirmation

You will receive an email confirming your membership purchase. Please review your order information and contact GVRP if your name, mailing address, or other details need to be corrected.

Your name will be printed on your membership certificate exactly as it appears on your order unless you provide different instructions.

2. GVRP Prepares Your Membership Materials

Your annual membership package includes:

  • A personalized welcome letter

  • An official 2026 membership certificate

  • A custom 2026 member medal

  • Information to help you begin documenting your volunteer service

Because membership materials are personalized and prepared for each member, processing and shipping times may differ from standard retail products.

3. You Begin or Continue Tracking Your Volunteer Service

You may begin tracking eligible service completed between January 1 and December 31, 2026.

Keep a record of:

  • Volunteer dates

  • Organization or project name

  • Type of service completed

  • Number of hours served

  • Volunteer supervisor or contact information

  • A description of your work

  • Supporting documentation when available

You may use your own tracking system or explore the separate GVRP Volunteer Hour Tracking App and Volunteer Impact Journal.

Using a tracking tool does not automatically submit your hours to GVRP.

4. You Participate in Volunteer Projects and Member Opportunities

Members can participate in qualifying service through schools, nonprofits, community organizations, faith-based groups, workplaces, independent projects, and other eligible volunteer settings.

You can also explore GVRP volunteer events and remote service opportunities for additional ways to make an impact.

Participation in a specific GVRP project is not required. You may volunteer with organizations and causes that are meaningful to you.

5. You Submit Your Eligible Service for Review

After completing your eligible service, you must follow the official submission process for the applicable recognition program.

Your membership purchase does not automatically submit your volunteer hours. Make sure your service year, membership year, documentation, and submission information match.

Review the GVRP FAQ before submitting your service.

6. GVRP Reviews Your Submission

GVRP reviews the information and documentation you provide to determine whether the service meets the applicable requirements.

You may be contacted if additional information, clarification, or documentation is needed.

Membership does not guarantee an eligibility-based award. Recognition must be earned through qualifying documented service.

7. Qualifying Members Receive Recognition

Members who meet the requirements for the Global Volunteer Awards™ may receive:

  • Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum recognition

  • A personalized digital award certificate

  • Placement on the official Global Volunteer Awards Honor Roll

  • Opportunities to share their volunteer story

Optional physical award medals, pins, and printed certificates can be purchased separately after eligibility requirements are met.

Questions About Your Membership?

Visit the GVRP FAQ for answers about membership years, eligible service, volunteer-hour documentation, award requirements, submissions, and optional recognition products.

You may also contact the Global Volunteer Recognition Program if you need help with your membership or volunteer recognition journey.

What Recognition Is Available When Requirements Are Met?

Depending on eligibility, documentation, deadlines, and program availability, members may qualify for:

  • Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum Global Volunteer Awards™

  • A personalized digital Global Volunteer Award certificate

  • Placement on the official Global Volunteer Awards Honor Roll

  • Member spotlight and volunteer storytelling opportunities

  • External volunteer award nomination support when appropriate

  • President’s Volunteer Service Award support if the national program resumes and GVRP is able to process awards under the applicable program requirements

Membership does not guarantee an eligibility-based award. Volunteers must complete and document the required service.

The Global Volunteer Recognition Program continues to provide its own recognition opportunities regardless of the status of outside award programs.

Which Products and Services Are Sold Separately?

The following products and services are not automatically included with annual membership unless a product listing specifically states otherwise:

Members may receive special offers or savings on selected products and programs when available.

Who Should Join the Global Volunteer Recognition Program?

Membership may be a good fit for you if you want to:

  • Document volunteer service completed during 2026

  • Build a school, scholarship, resume, career, leadership, or pageant portfolio

  • Stay organized while completing community service

  • Explore credible volunteer recognition opportunities

  • Participate in remote or in-person volunteer projects

  • Share your volunteer story and community impact

  • Connect with a program that believes volunteer service deserves to be celebrated

  • Work toward annual service-hour recognition

  • Receive a meaningful certificate and custom member medal

Whether you volunteer once a month or several times each week, your service deserves to be documented and celebrated.

How Does the 2026 Recognition Year Work?

A 2026 membership applies to eligible volunteer service completed from January 1 through December 31, 2026.

You may join later in the year and still document eligible service completed earlier in 2026. Membership is connected to the calendar recognition year, not only to the number of months remaining after your purchase.

Volunteer hours must follow current GVRP documentation, eligibility, submission, and deadline requirements. The membership year and service year must match.

For example:

  • Service completed in 2026 requires a 2026 membership.

  • Service completed in 2025 requires a 2025 membership.

  • Hours from different calendar years cannot automatically be combined into one recognition year.

Visit the GVRP FAQ for current answers about membership, volunteer-hour documentation, awards, deadlines, courses, and recognition opportunities.

How Can I Track My Volunteer Hours?

Keep a record of:

  • Volunteer dates

  • Organization or project name

  • Type of service completed

  • Number of hours

  • Volunteer supervisor or contact information

  • Description of your work

  • Proof of participation when available

Members may use their own spreadsheet, log book, or tracking system. GVRP also offers a separate Volunteer Hour Tracking App and a printable or physical Volunteer Impact Journal.

Using a tracking tool does not automatically submit hours to GVRP. Members must complete the official submission process when they are ready for their service to be reviewed.

Is This Membership the Same as Buying an Award?

No.

Annual dues provide membership in the Global Volunteer Recognition Program and support the services, resources, administration, and physical membership materials included with the program.

Eligibility-based awards are earned through qualifying documented service. Purchasing membership does not replace volunteer-hour requirements, documentation requirements, review, or other award criteria.

Optional physical recognition items may be purchased separately after the applicable eligibility requirements are met.

Is GVRP Membership Required for the Student Citizenship Award?

No. The Global Student Citizenship & Service Award is available to eligible students through a separate nomination and review process. GVRP membership is not required for that student award.

Students seeking annual recognition based primarily on documented volunteer hours may also consider GVRP membership and the Global Volunteer Awards.

Why Join GVRP?

Many volunteers give their time, energy, skills, and compassion without maintaining a complete record of what they have accomplished.

GVRP helps volunteers create a more organized recognition journey. Membership gives your service a place to be documented, reviewed, shared, and celebrated while connecting you with project ideas, recognition pathways, leadership resources, and a growing community that values volunteer impact.

You are already doing meaningful work. Membership helps make sure that work is not forgotten.
